I am an experienced Sales & Business Manager with a strong background in leading and motivating teams to successfully develop business across a breadth of sectors.

I have worked incredibly hard over the last 21 years, since graduating from University. The majority of time has been spent working in what is classed as manufacturing to construction based projects. Roles have ranged from Sales Executive to Sales Director and it is now a privilege to be Business Director at Lauralu UK.

I have been working in the temporary building industry for just over 14 years now. It still amazes me to this day how varied and diverse the sector is, which always keeps me on my feet.  In the morning you could be dealing with a small business owner looking for a small storage area, and in the afternoon you could be speaking to a large corporation regarding a several thousand sqm warehouse extension.

When not working I can most likely be found with my family. Equally you may also find me on my treadmill, reading a book, watching a film or trying my hand at some DIY around the house. I also get great enjoyment from managing a grassroots football team.

I am an experienced Sales Manager with a wealth of knowledge in the temporary industrial building industry, over the years I’ve acquired the experience to propose flexible, bespoke solutions suitable for even the most challenging of applications.

I manage the South of the UK for Lauralu, a familiar patch to my previous roles within this sector. I agree with my colleagues without exception that Lauralu delivers THE best product in the marketplace with genuine USP’s relating to our product and service.

A Business Manager and Sales Professional I have a broad history in management, design, estimation, scope of works, RAAMS, contracts and building regulations.

My background since Hull University has been the construction industry; my life for over 30 years. Starting in the fit-out marketplace with a US multinational. designing and installing full workstation schemes, I have also worked supplying mezzanine floors, office, library and pharmacy storage and workstations. Subsequently I moved to the commercial fenestration and curtain walling industry completing schemes throughout the UK for Local Authorities, Education, NHS, and manufacturing clients.

In recent years I have enjoyed working on offsite construction projects with Timber Frame and Modular Buildings throughout the UK.

Serving clients in the North and in Scotland I enjoy the challenge of the design and completion of projects for Tier 1 Contractor, Utilities, Logistics, Government and Manufacturing Sector markets. The joy of our industry is the variety of challenges, designs, clients, and locations each new day brings.

The experience of many markets and companies has led me to be 100% confident that Lauralu has a product and service package second to none for Temporary Buildings.

My family is especially important to me and outside of work we are keen visitors of the wild places of Scotland; Callanish, Ardnamurchan, Black Isle, Uig and the Oxford Bar in Edinburgh’s Young Street.

Recently I have been putting my love of Church Architecture to good use as a Churchwarden.

Other than travel my main interest is music with a collection of around 2000 albums, a few of which are quite good!

As an experienced Sales Manager I have spent 15 years in the world of temporary structures/buildings. I began as a teenager working for local marquee companies first erecting the marquees for events before moving onto the sales and long term rentals of temporary buildings.

I manage a large patch of the UK for Lauralu which covers the East Midlands, Home Counties, London and the South East. Certainly keeps me very busy with enquiries from large companies based in these areas.

Having worked with many different types of structures and temporary buildings I believe that Lauralu truly delivers THE best product in the marketplace. I love working with clients to design a turnkey temporary building solution that meets 100% of their needs without any compromises. Our temporary buildings look amazing on our clients industrial sites fitting seamlessly with permanent buildings – I am not bias, that is fact!!

When not in the office I can be found watching Rugby with my mates in a pub in Melbourne – unfortunately not the one in Australia, but the Derbyshire village of the same name isn’t too shabby!

Jamie MAckay

Operations Manager

Jamie has worked in the temporary building industry for over 20 years and is proud to hold the title of the most experienced Operations Manager in the sector.

What he does not know about temporary buildings is not worth knowing and he is a vital part of the UK team which helps our day to day business prosper.

When he is not knee deep carrying out operational visits to our customers or preparing RAMS he is spending time with his family and listening to 80s & 90s dance music.

Majida Appraoui

Office Manager

Since completing my degree in International Business at the University of Cergy- Pontoise in Paris, I have worked for various companies across Europe and Dubai. This has helped me build my competence along the way before settling at Lauralu in the South of France.

Not afraid of the change, and love of a challenge, I moved my entire family to the UK so I can be closer to the Lauralu UK team. I bring with me the knowledge learned at the Lauralu head office and manufacturing facility. One of my many hats is to act as the liaison between the team in France and the UK helping to co-ordinate projects.

When I am not eating a baguette with some French cheese (how I miss the French pastries)I love to run and keep active. I have booked to run more than one 10k this year and hope to also complete a half marathon before the end of 2021. I enjoy spending time with my two children in the kitchen sharing with them the many recipes I have picked up from the different countries I have lived in.

I am a qualified Chartered Accountant by profession with over 30 years, experience.

Once qualified I left my role as an auditor to move into Commerce. My previous roles in commerce involved being Finance Manager or Financial Controller in the Transport sector. My experience is mainly within the service sector and I am very much a hand on accountant.

When I am not crunching numbers I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, visiting Norfolk and our new challenge a puppy.
